The Tuscan stretch of the famous pilgrimage route represents approximately 40% of the entire Italian route and 20% of the European route.

Through the 380km of the Via Francigena in Tuscany, which can be traveled on foot, by bicycle or on horseback, you can admire unique landscapes starting from the harshness of the Lunigiana, passing through the sea of Versilia, through the plain of Lucca and the Crete Senesi.

These 380km are the result of the 15 itineraries discovered through the study of the travel diary of the Bishop of Canterbury Sigeric. The 15 itineraries can be summarized as follows:

  1. Passo della Cisa – Pontremoli – 19km/5 hours
  2. Pontremoli – Aulla – 33km/8 hours
  3. Aulla – Avenza – 33km/8 hours
  4. Avenza – Pietrasanta – 28km/6 hours
  5. Pietrasanta – Lucca – 32km/7.5 hours
  6. Lucca – Altopascio – 18km/4 hours
  7. Altopascio – San Miniato – 25km/6 hours
  8. San Miniato – Gambassi Terme – 24km/6 hours
  9. Gambassi Terme – San Gimignano – 13km/3 hours
  10. San Gimignano – Monteriggioni – 30km/7 hours
  11. Monteriggioni – Siena – 21km/6 hours
  12. Siena – Ponte d’Arbia – 30km/7 hours
  13. Ponte d’Arbia – San Quirico – 27km/6 hours
  14. San Quirico – Radicofani – 33km/7 hours
  15. Radicofani – Aquapendente – 32km/7 hours
